Oman work permit 2025
Oman work permit 2025 On July 16, 2025, Oman’s Ministry of Labour issued an official announcement notifying all companies and professionals that, beginning September 1, 2025, a Professional Classification Certificate will be a mandatory requirement for the issuance and renewal of work permits for individuals employed in accounting, finance, and auditing roles.
This new regulation is part of a wider national effort to enhance the quality of the workforce and ensure that professionals in vital sectors are properly accredited.
🎓 Certification Now Required for Financial Sector Roles
According to the Ministry, any individual currently employed or intending to be hired in accounting, finance, or auditing positions must obtain a Professional Classification Certificate issued by the Sector Skills Unit for Accounting, Finance, and Auditing. The Ministry of Labour will only process work permit requests if the certificate is submitted alongside the application.
No Work Permits Without a Valid Certificate
The Ministry emphasized that no work permit—whether new or renewal—will be granted after September 1, 2025, unless accompanied by the approved certificate. All employers are required to comply with this directive immediately and ensure their staff meet the certification requirements to avoid disruptions.
